Big Ideas for A Small Marketing Budget

August 6, 2020 0 By: GayleHope

If you’ve got a small marketing budget, here’s a big idea for you.

Leaving relevant and insightful comments on other blogs is a great way to increase the traffic to your own website. How, you say? When commenting, you can typically leave your own website URL. When folks read your comments and think them insightful and useful, they often head over to your site to check out who you are.

This tactic seems simple, but it is very effective. Just look at Mashable. Pete Cashmore made that blog popular by commenting on competing blogs like TechCrunch when he first launched it. He literally left hundreds of comments, and now he has one of the most popular websites on the Internet.

You can also use social media for comments. Just like you’d comment on a blog, find places on social feeds like LinkedIn and Facebook and use your business profile to like and comment. It will help keep your business top of mind with those companies.

Video is another great way to DIY some unique content. You can set up a small space in your home or office to accomplish this. Be sure your lighting and audio are good. Create a content calendar, stick to it, and post weekly to your social feeds.

And last, network as much as you can. There are plenty of great networking opportunities out there for little or no money. You will meet a lot of great people. Reach out to them via email or with a short personalized note afterwards.
